My latest podcast episode, aired on Thursday, November 14th, 2024, took a nostalgic dive into Oldies Rock from the 50s and 60s.
It was a fantastic session filled with great oldies but goodies, celebrating the vibrant and enduring sounds of the era.
I was thrilled to have two special guests join the show. First, Robby Vee shared memorable stories about his father, Bobby Vee, and discussed the influential genre of Rockabilly music.
Robby touched on interactions and influences from iconic artists like Little Richard, The Everly Brothers, Paul McCartney, Dion, James Burton, Carl Perkins, and a few others, providing a personal look at the connections that shaped his musical path.
Additionally, Joe Kane joined us to express his love for the Beatles and discuss his insights into British music. He also talked about his experiences with his band, The Poppermost, and their dedication to capturing the essence of the Beatles’ sound.
This episode was a heartfelt tribute to the roots of rock and roll and the artists who made the 50s and 60s such a dynamic time for music.
Be sure to tune in to this enriching exploration of classic tracks and fascinating stories from two musicians closely linked to the legacy of these decades.
