Once a year we take a moment to pause and reflect on the anniversary of 1962, a year that marked the history of the world.

Our President was John F. Kennedy and the following historical events marked this momentous year:

  • Civil Rights personality, James Meredith who became the first African-American to enroll at the University of Mississippi
  • Rachel Carson who published Silent Spring and in turn gave rise to the modern environmentalist movement
  • Andy Warhol who introduced Pop Art on his artwork of Campbell’s Soup Cans
  • Wal-Mart opened
  • Wilt Chamberlain who scored 100 points in a single National Basketball Association basketball game
  • Jackie Kennedy who tool television viewers on a tour of the White House

  • The Drifters
